Hi if you own the fine adjuster for the guide stop can you please confirm if it came with TWO black thumb screws or just ONE as it shows in all the pictures.

I bought one which came with one but a shop I rang to check said they had two in the packet and someone on here said two also. I tried using one from the router but these are longer and lock the rods before tightening down on the metal angle bracket and when left loose then there is play in the FINE adjuster  ???

Basically all I need is confirmation that there should be TWO as now the Festool rep who was in the shop I bought it from is saying you only get ONE.

Cheers for any help.

Joiner, I've just been to the store and I saw the package there of the FE-FS/OF 1000 No 488754 had two thumbscrews in it.

All I had on my drive was this small low res picture of the package. But you can clearly see two black thumbscrews in it.

Cheers Alex thanks for taking the time to take the photo.

so the Festool rep either is an idiot or they have started only putting one thumb screw in packs to save money  [big grin]

I have found a way to use it with swapping over some thumb screws but still I shouldnt have to  [mad]

Just checked the Festool USA website, there it only shows one.  here's the link:
http://www.festoolusa.com/products/routers/other-accessories/fine-adjustment-488754.html

the UK and German sites show the same!  Maybe you're right that now they only supply one.

The images Festool uses of accessories often don't show lose parts like the second thumb screw.

I agree, Brice.  Also there are times that the images don't totally match the item - although in Festool USA's defense - the ones that I have run across are wrong in other countries also.  I only noticed it while searching for pictures for labels.  Mainly systainers with inserts.

That's alright. I didn't take the photo myself, I don't have a Festool router. I remembered somebody offered this item a week ago on marktplaats.nl, our Dutch eBay. I often look there for nice deals and since I have the habit to right click and save a lot of pics I see I checked my extensive tools pics folder. Unfortunately I had only saved the thumbnail instead of the high res pic.

But this afternoon I was at a dealer here in my city (one of about 10 dealers we have in a 40,000 inhabitants city), to get me some jigsaw blades, and I had the package of the fine adjuster in my hand there and there really were two thumbscrews in it. I know the pic on Festool's websites only show one but those pics are not always telling you everything.

Gentlemen:

When this question came up a couple of days ago on a different thread, I looked at stock to make sure my memory was correct...

It comes with the extra thumb screw to attach it.

Well today I had a call from Healys who supplied the adjuster the woman on the phone told me she had spoken to the Festool rep and he told her that it only comes with one and you should take one off the router.

Then a little while after that I had a reply to an email that I sent to Festool UK yesterday telling me that I was right and it does come with TWO thumb screws so they are sending me one out asap.

So it looks like Festool UK need to train their reps a bit better as he obviously didnt know what he was on about  [big grin]

A big thank you to everyone who has looked into this small problem.
