Anyone with the CTM 36 AC HD?

I'm moving up my purchase for a more substantial vac for use with the router and table saw. I've pretty well decided on the CTM 36 AC HD. I wonder if anyone cares to share their experiences with it.

From what I can see it is a rebadged protool vacuum that can actually be found for sale on some sites.

What interests me about it is that it's got more robust wheels and axel, is good for vacuuming up heavy and fine dusts which I sometimes need to do, and just looks very tough in a good way.. Interestingly I've found it at a least a slightly cheaper price then the Festool original CTM 36.

Some might thing why get a 36 liter version it's heavy to lug around etc. But I don't plan on using a DustDeputy type solution being mobile that would be a kludge, and in the end for the price of the hosing and the Deputy I could probably buy a few years supply of bags for my usage..Eventually it will sit in a shop and here too, I'd just like to keep things simple, and to be able to pull the vac over to the work area to keep hose lengths short.

Is it a European version of the CT 36 AC vacuum which we have in the US? Isn't auto-clean needed only and mainly for drywall?

I have a CT36 AC with the Planex drywall sander, and it will be the first and probably the only dust extractor which I will sell once I finish remodeling my home. It is way too big, heavy, and bulky to even use in my garage instead of CT26. It has no advantage in terms of suction or build quality over its smaller siblings.

Since the line-up of Festool vacuums shares the same motor, the key difference is the size of the dust container. Ultimately, suction is the same, only one does not have to replace bags very often.

For a table saw, you need a large diameter hose (50 mm or more) and a lot of CFMs (or liters per minute). The more the better. Festool's dust extractors will underperform with a table saw, especially if you have a big and powerful one which cuts fast.

I think it is also offered in the States now it's relatively newly released, so it won't be like the model you have, The thing is it's actually dimension is lower in height because it lacks the hose garage on the top..

Those are some good points you bring up, The table saw I'll be using it with is the Festool TS 75 module in the CMS, so the volume sawdust is not as great as a larger saw. I'll likely use the vacuum for this saw, a smaller bandsaw, the OF 2200 router, a Beltsander or scroll sander. limited amount of planing and shaping..

I like the larger diameter hose doesn't really improve things on the CMS system as all the tools used in have dust ports with a max diameter of 36mm
