Heard back from Festool today about my Kapex which I thought had burnt out for the second, turns out it was just the brushes this time.
It made a strange noise, big puff of smoke, bad smell and ran slow which is just what happened when the armature went so I presumed it was the same again but I am told it only needs new end shield and brushes, about £75 in total with delivery.
Apologies for fuelling the Kapex died again fire when it hadn't [embarassed]
It's a shame the Kapex doesn't stop working when the brushes are low like the OF1400.
Looking forward to getting it back and getting caught up with work.
