Are the Centrotec Set going to be revised soon?

Does anyone know if the Centrotec Set going to be revised soon? Just seems like stocks are running low.

Also how do people find the set, is it worth it?

I was going to ask this same question at yesterdays Festool Connect but forgot. They are getting hard to find.

I would rate the Installer's Set as barely worth it when I got it at the $299 sale price a few months ago.  Having had it for a few months now, I'm glad I got it, but I would not pay $350 (the price of an ETS 150) for it at this point.  Maybe in 3-4 years, when I'm still working off the included bits, I will feel like it was a better investment?

EDIT: Let me just say, though, that the drill bits that came with the set are the best bits I've owned.  Razor sharp and true.  Combined with the T18, I can now do some operations that previously I would only trust to a drill press.

In the USA, Centrotec sets are limited offerings. The last sets were brought in in 2014.

Internationally, they seem to be updated more often and more readily available.

True, we have a constant availability of sets, and parts are available separately, not only as a complete and expensive set. I am very fond of the entire centrotec system, I've got about every piece available. It greatly speeds up my work.

Of course I haven't paid close to what you guys in America have to pay for it. By looking for deals on separate items I got it all for less than half price.

I have almost every piece in this list, with a few exceptions like the zobo bits and the new long zirconium bits.

- Most used are the 100 mm long golden coloured bits (PZ, PH and slotted), the twist drill bits for metal, and the brad point wood bits. Especially the metal bit set is good for almost anything except stone. Very sharp bits that cut very cleanly. Love them.

- Often used are the long 150 mm bitholder often and the countersinks with and without depth stop.

- Sparely used are the socket adapter, the hook driver and the self centering bit for hinges. Not used often, but essential when I do need them.

The lack of the sets in the US really aggravates me. There were 2 of the 2015 Centrotec sets that I could have gotten off ebay for $400 plus shipping, but that's insane imho. I ended ordering a couple Snappy sets and the Zobo set( found a new discontinued set locally)
Why sell the drill and not all the accessories??
Most of the time you can use regular bits in the chuck, but close to a wall with the eccentric chuck you need the centrotec

If you have any typical, US style, ball detent bits, I wish you'd try those. I'm pretty certain the eccentric chuck was designed for them.

The ball detent groove in a Centrotec bit is too far up the shaft so it can't grip them.

You are correct with driver bits, I was referring to drill bits, I have only seen a few sizes with 1/ 4" hex shanks

That makes perfect sense now. 'Sorry for not thinking about drilling...

Honestly, you can't get hex shank drill bits? We can get them in every size imaginable, and the range is a lot less limited than the centrotec bits which only give you 3 to 10 mm.

You can get them, the ones I had were pretty lousy, but the whole set cost less than one festool bit, I guess you get what you pay for.
