Artwork on cabinets.

I have been hired to build some custom cabinets for a garage/man-cave.  I also have a good friend that is an artist that has been doing a series of paintings of skull on wood canvases.  So I decided to team up with him and have him paint four cabinet doors for this project.  I know it's kinda of dark and is not for everyone. But it fits my client to a T and I really like it.  I will post more pictures of the project as it progresses.  I just wanted to get the opinion of this forum of artwork on cabinets.

These doors will be installed on upper cabinets that will sit directly on the countertop.  Two doors on either side of the run of cabinets, total run for this cabinet is 14'

not my cup of tea but very well painted.
i would like to see a pic further away to see how the art interacts with the whole run of cabinets

That is some very good work. Airbrushed I presume which takes a lot of skill. Total respect!

If that fits your client to a "T", be sure you get paid before you install the cabinets. [cool]

The "portrait" looks like Christopher Walken.. I have always thought he was a little spooky, now he is up there with the likes of "Alien"

Here is an update on this garage cabinet build.  A couple of additional unique touches to the job are the bowling ally countertops wrapped in a walnut self edged and the hidden compartment for some toys.

I really like the cabinetry, especially the bowling alley countertop and the hidden toy compartments.  Nice job, Aaron.  The artwork just ain't my cup of tea, though.

Hey Aaron love the cabinets and Artwork look great. I think you customer needs a new floor, gotta loose the tile.

thx

I agree but he just installed that tile before I started the job.  I think it was some tile he had laying around.  Plus trying to move that safe now with the cabinets in place would be a nightmare [scared]

Great work and impressive work by your friend as well.  Like the other's said, not my cup of tea... on the cabinets.  It's very cool, unique art work, but on the cabinets I just don't see how it works well.  To each their own!  Looks like the cover of a metal album!

I also like the cabinets and artwork a lot, although not so much the subject matter.

No doubt about it, this kind of project would only be seen in something called a man cave.  [smile]

Well executed!
I've just taken 20 shots of tequila and am ready for my tattoo, can I fly you down to San Diego?
Great job on the shading and intricate detail, the execution of the piece is amazing.
Subject matter, well to each there own; personally, I wouldn't put it anywhere I had to look at everyday (yes I am in my garage everyday).
A friendly reminder once in a blue moon that death is watching us all is enough for me!

:)

Kind thoughts-
Christopher
