that, and I would say for now, until I get the UPS sorted, we will ship Canada post or purolator, or the cheapest solution.  Please put in your order comments, "contact me at customeryou@gmail.com if shipping is more than $20 (or whatever you feel), please" and we will contact you and not charge/ship your order until we confirm with you if the charges are reasonable and agreeable. Sorry for the inconvenience of the website UPS calculator.
So to be clear... Keep the orders coming, I will find the cheapest way to get them to you.

Canada Post is almost always the cheapest. When ordering from the US, US Postal Service is the only way I'll buy. If the business I'm trying to buy from won't send it by USPS, then I won't buy. Any other service usually means handling or brokerage charges => cash grab.  It makes sense that using Canada Post (if at all possible) to send out of the country (anywhere) is the preferred choice.

I think your right on that one... We will be using purolator (owned by Canada post) and Canada post only for the bit orders. Those of you who are ordering from abroad... If you would feel more comfortable choosing the "in store pickup" option on the check out, then writing "contact me for cheapest shipping quote" in your order comments, I do not have a problem with that as long as you fill out all your billing details and cc info on the secure site.

All the best,
Shawn

Hey Shawn how do I get Canada post shipping at checkout, only seems to show ups? Should I just call the store to order?
thx
Lambeater

Hi, we will ship purolator to you, not a problem, your card is not charged until we get a shipping quote online for puro.  If you want Canada post select in store pickup and in your order comments put "ship Canada post... under x amount.... or use regular envelope"  regular envelope would be like $2 to ship the 6 bits, but who knows how long it will take and it is not traceable or insurable from my end.  I prefer to ship at least "Canada Post Expedited" which would be about $10 to BC.
Let me know
Thanks
Shawn
PS I love Lamb

I went to the trouble of ordering with a request to price freight ... $40 worth of bits and $90 in postage to Australia.

I've sent much larger sized packages than this would be to Europe and the US for way less than $25 and have also received same back.

To any potential overseas buyers, don't waste your time with the enquiry unless you are happy to pay excessive freight charges.

Very disappointing.  [mad]

...

Update : Alex is looking at postal options for me ... may work out after all ! [smile]

Thx Shawn, pm sent, shipping was Ouch!

Lambeater.

PS. Canada post is also the best way to send human body parts! [scared] [scared]

OK so, I just went online and found out that I can send a letter of up to 500grams in weight registers (traceable) to Australia from here for $30, non traceable would be $17.....

I will inform Alex Tomorrow and if its alright we will work on it Monday, I will also go to the post office Monday in person to confirm, as I won't be able to until then.... To Many Domino's Blocking my way from exiting the store right now..... still here bahhhhhh and tomorrow won't be any less busy.

HOPE IS NOT LOST JUST YET

I've had a one day delivery BC to Toronto, Ontario in one day too. It's nice when something arrives that fast. (Almost) Instant gratification is certainly a great thing when it happens.

Stopped in this morning at Atlas and picked up a set. Used all three sizes on a job this afternoon. Really well made, perfect fit. Highly recommended!
Unfortunately for my wallet, they had a stack of Syslites sitting in the Festool section and one was calling my name so I had to take it home.  [unsure]

I was there at 10am. At that point not a lot of people around. Atlas is a small store in downtown Toronto - The Festool section is maybe 10'x15' . But they have a full selection and it's a great store - Really good staff. I wasn't there for the event, just stopped to pick up some things I needed for a job today so I didn't stick around at all.

Shawn,

Being 3000 miles away I most likely won't make your open house but, thanks for the invite.  I do appreciate you getting the Robertson Centrotec bits and that probably will push me over the edge and buy the CSX drill.

Jack

Order placed.

Have no worries about placing orders. I'm sure the guys there will figure out the most expeditious way to get the bits out. After all, I once ordered a bench vise from them and promptly received it, with the shipping costing far less than my quote for a packet of 6 bits.

Dan

Shawn- were are the little green o-rings?

I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out Friday and Saturday to the Atlas Machinery Festivis... We appreciate you taking the time to come to our store and see the new Domino and Syslite.  We had a great response and after some play by all, it is clear Festool did a really good job on this tool as expected.

Thanks Again

Thank You.... I think everyone should be very happy with the quality of these and I am thrilled that we can all finally use our Festool drills with our R1 and R2 screws with ease!!

SEE FESTOOL this is exactly as I planned it, now only if he was closer to my store.....

PICTURES OF THE EVENT OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN (and you weren't there)

I am sad to say I did not take any pics this round, the food was at the back, I know all of you were looking for more green cupcakes and Appletainer pictures

My father and Michael Fortune did those vices.... we need to make those again, they were awesome, darn Canadian machinists charging body parts to make small runs.

Please let me know if the Black O rings are acceptable... Festool Patented the Green O-Ring a long time ago.
