Attic lid systainer

Do you lose much headroom in the top of the systainer?  Another of asking is will a given tool fit in the same size systainer with the attic?

The lid already 'protrudes' into the inside because of the recess for the handle. The attic lid compartment merely matches this recess protrusion over more of the lid area.

Another way to say this is that the lid card that comes with the tools can be transferred to an attic lid with no issues.

Does that help?

You basically lose almost all the space inside the lid. So items that protrude above the sides of the bottom will not fit.

I bought an attic lid from a Tanos Sys 2 and installed it on my Sys 1 that is part of my CXS set. I was hoping to use the attic for the driver and drill bits. Sadly it did not fit as the CXS and its insert requires all the space inside the lid. I had to use a Sys 2 with the attic for my CXS set.

I have found that making your own insert or not using it can reduce the height of some tools so that they will fit in a Sys - I with attic lid.  I was able to get the NiCd C12 set (TRC3 charger and all) into a Sys - I with attic lid by doing this. The LiOn C12 batteries are a bit wider but I think it would still work as long as the a battery is not in the drill.

I've got my CXS and a whole bunch of bits in the cxs tray,
in a sys 1 with an attic lid.  Fits fine, as long as you leave the charger
at the shop.  [cool]
