Award cases for UTI ( Made from Rosewood )

I got a call from a company i did some work for a few years ago, They wanted me to make four award cabinets for them so i came up with a pretty simple design. I did my usual 3D renderings and sent them off to the company. Again i failed to take progress pictures but i just dont have the time when im under the gun to get something finished in as short a time as possible.

First the renderings i sent them........ I also modeled my own little award with my logo on and a scorpion that im planning to make when i have alot of down time ( and a drum sander to help ). [doh]

Then the finished unit.......note the black melamine board in the back....( future sysports waiting to be built )  [big grin] And i will be taking progress pics on that build.

I cut 3mm slots in all the timber where the glass slides in even on the lid, so there will never be a spec of dust getting inside. I used mirror screws with the chrome dome to screw the lids on. This also helps keep the awards safe from someone with itchy fingers........unless there really quick with a screwdriver.

And thats it for now, I did have a few more photos but they came out really blurry cause i didnt use the flash so no point in putting them on.

Again, fantastic how alike the renderings & the finished product is, really nice work.  Good that you have the melamine for the sysports, looking forward to seeing that  [big grin]
