Hoping to get some ideas or tips on transitioning baseboard in a room passage way.
The original baseboard that will be meeting up at this passage way is just a plain radius top around 2-1/2" tall. I will be doing a 4" colonial baseboard.
The original base just comes up to where I will be installing and does a return end.
Should I do an outside miter at this corner and cut back to half way on the passage way wall - approximately 4" to center and end the new baseboard? or should I just do the same that is there and end near the corner with a return end? what is the correct way or more typical way of doing this?
Thanks,
Pat
