Hi guys, I thought that Axminster used to supply Bessey Clamps but they are no longer listed on their web-site. I have emailed them but have yet to hear back.

Do you know of another supplier that can get hold of these at a reasonable price, I have come across a few but they are asking stupid money.

Alternatively what other parallel clamps do you recommend, I saw some for sale on Rutlands made by 'Dakota'? anyone tryed or owned these.

Cheers, Dan.

I just bought £180's worth from d & m tools . They're usually one of the cheapest. Handy for me as its 20 minutes from me

If you are comfortable shopping online and care to process the German information and conditions, this is a good value for money address:http://www.crebes-werkzeuge.de

What I understand from all info is that Crebes is situated near the Bessey factory and are a kind of outlet. I am currently expecting delivery of my first order. Will keep you all informed.

I'd like some bessey clamps may be this year....

I have 12 Dakota clamps from Rutlands, the kinda bessey clone. Cannot fault them at all and work/function as expected. I will buy some Bessey to compare hopefully.

Thanks guys,
A KR250 clamp on the German site(I found them eventually, I also want to know what a 'Maschinentischspanner' is) was 94€ which is about £70, and on DandM tools the clamp is 77.50 excluding Vat, which I can claim back, that's not to bad really.

I'll give them a shout with what I want and see if they can do me a deal.

Cheers Dan.

Any particular Bessey clamps you want? For the last two years or so there has been a 4 pack promotion at D&M that was the best price. Maybe ring them and ask if it will happen again.

Be careful who you buy from though as the Revo's damage very easily in transport around the clamp heads.

If you are VAT registered you can buy the clamps from the german supplier without the german 19% tax. The 94€ you quoted included the 19% tax, so the price without tax is 79€. You have to supply them your VAT number for it to be processed without the tax.
I have done this with a german supplier for sustainer and it worked just fine.
Cheers Charlie

Try Gedore UK, they attend several woodworking shows each year and have the best prices on Bessey Clamps I have ever come across.

They were at the Midlands Wood Working Show last March and I saved £180 compared to the D & M price at the time (admittedly this was on a £750 spend).

PS I have no connection with Gedore UK other than as a satisfied customer

Try besseytools.co.uk they have some good package deals on the k body clamps or as already said D and M tools not seen them cheaper than these two outlets.

The shipment from Crebes has arrived and it was very well packaged (Bessey branded tape, even), with airfilled bags to cushion the clamps. Even received a nice Bessey 2015/2016 catalogue. All in all a very smooth experience that has saved me quite a lot of money.

They did until jan 2015 when they stopped selling them. However you will notice their own brand look very similar to the Bessey clamps, i have a suspicion they are rebranded Bessey clamps. Just like years ago when they rebranded some Jet/ sedgewick machinery etc as their own. In fact they still do with some Sedgewick table saws.
