Wanted to pick up a few M20 bolts as extra stops/dogs/jig fixtures to supplement my QWAS ones now that I'm finishing up my MFT style workbench top.  Was wondering what the best style of M20 fastener was for this purpose (i.e., hex head, round head), and what's a good source in the US for getting metric bolts this big?  Thanks.

Hex head will be the cheapest in a 20mm size

Try McMaster.com

Amazon also stocks them in packs of 10

I don't think Lowes stocks any metric that large.

Thanks.

The cheap hex head bolts do not necessarily have the head concentric with the shaft. They might be, it depends on the production quality control so I would be careful if you are going to use them for any critical work. I would expect that the high tensile bolts (probably not made in the East) are a better quality but they are also a lot more expensive.

Another point is fit of the bolt to your 20mm holes. Qwas and Lee Valley go to a good deal of trouble to get a tight enough fit on their dogs, but not so much that they're hard to insert or pull out. Depending on your bolt class/specs, you could have a fair amount of wobble or play with the bolts diameter to your 20mm hole clearance.
