Bhc making a mad vibration and noise

hi all! I've had my bhc for a year now, and it started making a really harsh vibration when not under load in hammer mode. It did that for a while, I didn't think much of it, but it has started flashing red and cutting out mid hole, which is remedied by removing and replacing the battery.
Has anyone had issues with theirs??
