I made a big fancy marking gauge because it seemed to me the best way to use my 9.5 foot rail on sheet stock.  Don't think this one needs to much explaining.  Just a lot simpler and easier to handle than the thing festool sells for finding your distance from the edge of the sheet stock for a rip.  I mean the rail is already pretty big and cumbersome.

also threw in how I like to mount my rechargers on a board.  This thing can both hang on the wall in the shop, and lay on the floor at an install.

the graduated tape on the bottom of the beam is read of off the face of the fence.  The block or head that holds the .75mm mechanical pencil allows for fine tuning.  Since it slides up and down on the beam by loosening the two mounting bolts you can move it in or out to get perfect measurement.  The pencil is consistent, never needs sharpening and can be easily removed.  All the white plastic is UHMW and the fasteners are stainless steel.  The blue hardware is from rockler.  It's the overpriced cr@p they sell for router tables.  The cam clamp locks down securely and makes it easy to adjust length.
