Blade Recommendation for TS55

I've got a recurring job that involves crosscutting long lengths of hard white maple into 1' lengths. HUNDREDS of them. 1 5/8" and 1 1/8" are the thicknesses. I built a cradle using a guide rail and a fixed stop. I just slide a 10' length in and chop-chop-chop with the TS55. Quick and accurate, works really well.

What blade would you guys recommend for this application? Right now I'm using the stock blade, which works pretty well. I'm getting some burn on the end grain. i'm just wondering if there's a better blade choice out there.

Discuss.

I would think of crosscutting similar to that of a SCMS. A finer tooth blade should yield better results. Ripping would require a lesser tooth blade like the Panther or universal.

That's my .02 :)

Just get another stock fine tooth blade so you can keep cutting while the first blade soaks in blade cleaner. As soon as you notice burning on the wood you need to clean the blade. It just gets worse if you continue cutting.

You can also try cutting a little faster. Might need to re-fresh your jig to control tearout on the exit.
