Hi does anyone know if the new Bluetooth module will fit the CTL SYS Cleantec.

In other words can I convert my CTL SYS Cleantec to Bluetooth operation.

Thanks

The module will not fit the CT SYS. Unless Festool bakes in a Bluetooth receiver to the auto/man switch and offer it as an aftermarket bit of kit it is going to be difficult.
One possible way would be a remote controlled socket plugged in the CT SYS set to auto. But you would be lucky having that one paired to Festool”s Bluetooth protocol so that the batteries would trigger it. Most likely you would have to use the sockets remote to start the CT. If it would work at all. I haven’t tried it (Yet.. [big grin])

No, not officially factory supported.  It doesn't even work in the last generation mini/midi vacs.

Even rick c's earlier remote trigger package won't fit those models because of space constraints.  So, I doubt there's enough room in a ct-sys for any modules.

For fun I tried a remote controlled socket, with its own remote. But it wouldn’t trigger the CT, suppose it needs a tool in its socket to close the circuit.. even the remote controlled one.

Thats a real shame..

But thanks all you guys for replying to me, looks like an extractor upgrade may be due...

Although I do really like the Extractor in a Systainer solution. (primarily why I went for it, ease of storing etc)

Thanks again!

You’re welcome!
- Hold on selling just yet.. Everyone has their own use and budget, so did I (at least I thought before plunging into what is here known as coolaid drinking [scared])

One of my first Festool purchases was in fact the CT-SYS and the new CTL Mini.. Coming from a more “free” point of view I just fell completely for both of them. Knowing that the CT-SYS did not have Bluetooth, I still loved the compactness and easy going approach in this little thing.
I haven’t really missed Bluetooth on this, as it is a secondary DC, with short hose and therefore easy to reach buttons it’s very handy. - That’s why I walked out of the dealer with both units, determined to only buy one.. And it even has a blower port to clean whatever that is easier and more convenient to blow clean [wink]
And in the meanwhile we can wait until Festool makes a little thingy that brings in Bluetooth in a retrofitable switch  [big grin]

You can build a universal festool Bluetooth adapter , so it works with older festool dust extractors. Or any dust extractor. There's a YouTube video showing you how.
