Hi gang,

I'm in the market for a second shop vac. I already have the Ct mini and are quite happy with it, but I need another one for my staff to use. The new one would stay in the shop and has to have more volume then my mini.

I know about the festool "system" you don't have to convince me on that. But current pricing in Canada makes me looking into other alternatives.
Today I had the chance to get my hand on this one:

My local dealer offered it to me for $540 (a longer hose will only cost $60 and not $160...)
The CT33 will set me back: $798
By looking at the technical numbers, they are almost the same. But with a huge price gap!

So, what do you guys think? Anyone using that Bosch vac?

From what I have seen on job sites the Bosch vac is good. Some drawback are; noise, bulk and does not come with an anti static hose.
I would much rather go for the CT22.

I recommend you also consider the Fein vacs.  I have both Fein Turbo II (purchased 2001 or 2002) and CT 22E (purchased about 3 years ago) and like them both.  The Fein comes with a larger diameter, longer hose, and a reusable 5 micron cloth filter and is quieter, but does not have variable speed and anti-static, although the lack of AS has not ever caused any problems.  Variable speed is a definite plus when you want to achieve the best finish possible using Festool's RO sanders.

I have one of the new Fein vacs (along with an older model). They now have variable speed! Only one switch - (auto - off - manual) rocker which is a big improvement too. They can be fitted out with a Cleanstream HEPA filter for about $30.00.

That same Vac is offered by Mafell  with systainer latches.  It is an excellent vac with the pulse filter purge which sends a negative pressure back through the filter to auto purge it from dust.  I use it with a Hilti DCG 500 dustless concrete cup grinder and it just fills up bags of mortar dust with out ever clogging.
