Bosch has a new L-Boxx Bay on the market from which the batteries in a L-Boxx are charged wireless during transport in a car.

Come on Festool/Tanos you can do that as well with your T-Loc systainers, I'm sure.

Smart idea. I don't know that we will see it (or similar products from competitors) because of issues with UL approval on these types of things. Basically the Systainer, L-Boxx and others are not fire retardant so you can't put something inside of them that may be a fire hazard. It'll be interesting to see what happens with it. Hopefully I will be proven wrong.

I thought the ABS used in Systainers had bromine added as a flame retardant?

That's usually what causes the yellowing in plastics, which is accelerated greatly with sunlight.

Got to love the ol' US of A.  Putting an 18v battery in a plastic box is a step too far [big grin]

EDIT> removed controversial topic

Great solution! Now we just need to find the problem it is supposed to solve :p
Seriously where is the problem? It's not very efficient, takes 50 minutes to charge and gets the batteries quite hot. Constantly charging them and heating them up is not good for Li battery life. Plus if you charge Li below freezing temp you will damage them, and above 45 degrees Celsius you reduce their life so charging Li in a van= very bad idea, even though i hope this Bosch charger detects outside temp. If Festool implemented this then nice, but i would certainly keep charging them the old way.
