Has anyone tried the bosch 12 in mitersaw with the new glide system. I have some large wood to cut and this would do the trick. The bad part is I would likely have to part with my kapex to get one. If anyone  has any thoughts please let me know.

I'm not sure but those may be fighting words!!!!! Just kidding and I am actually going to be buying the 10" axial glide, I'd like the 12" but the blades are bloody expensive. I'd go Kapex but $1400 for DIY and hobby and hopefully when I retire in four years, a part time job, is a little too steep for me :(

I find the action takes a little getting used to, and on the saw we have on our current production, the blade doesn't spring back up on its own after completing the cut which leaves a spinning blade exposed for a few seconds. I think the spring needs to be re adjusted  or something. It's enough that if you're making a quick cut and go to grab our piece you  could run your had into the blade expecting it to have sprung back up. Don't know if this is a common problem or this saw has just been abused.

I have the 10", loved almost everything about the saw, but I am returning it. Smooth slide, up front controls (huge+) , enough power, but the saw I have leaves kerf marks on the end grain of any cuts. I tried 6 different blades on it some made it better but would not be suited for stained wood works. Small voids in the face of boards when you line the boards up after the cut. I spoke with a Bosch rep and he was hesitant to return because he had not seen this problem yet, I've never had it before either, but allowed the return so it is going back this week. At $1100 for the saw, miter stand , and tax it better leave a perfect cut... I don't know if its a belt drive thing or not, but my 15yr old ls1013 still cuts super smooth with the direct drive, not near the features that the Bosch has though

After agonizing about what to purchase, Bosch12 GDC or a Kapex, I decided on the Bosch. In my mind, there were pros and cons with both. I liked having a 12 inch blade but would have really liked to have a laser.  I purchased the saw, a Forrest Chop Master blade and because the saw is super heavy I got the Bosch stand. If you need to move the saw around you are going to need a stand. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the saw.

The Kapex has great capabilities but with the stand it would have been 2x the cost. If Festool had a 12 inch saw, I probably would have got that way.

I use that saw daily, the only reason I would switch would be because it's so heavy and as a pro I'm moving it constantly. As far as accuracy it's been dead on. Dust collection could be better. Only complaint is the weight. I use it on a mft3/Kapex stand with sawhelper wings.
