Bostitch 15 ga finish gun

You might want to consider the differences between 15 ga. and 18 ga. brad nailers as you make your choice relative to the kind of work you do.  Also consider the difference between angled or straight magazines relative to your work.  Each has a place.  Note, too, that these are not finish nailers in the traditional sense, but brad nailers.  You might do well to note the intended application.

I hardly ever use my 15ga gun.  For most trim, I use the 16ga and maybe the brad gun for the thinner parts of casing.

If you don't have a gun yet, buy a 16ga, It'll do most of what you might start with aside from cabinetry moldings.

I'd also stay away from any Bostich guns.  Though I have quite a few, I've also had many many go bad.  a couple pin nailers and a stapler and also had an air compressor die.

I'm just me, not a crew and I don't beat up or leave my tools out in the rain - they stay in a padded case when not in use.

Find an older PC finish/brad gun - they're relatively bullet-proof, or Hitachi makes some good if not ugly one's as well.

I've got a dozen of the older US made Bostitch guns and the only thing that has ever gone out are the o-rings in the trigger assemblies.  I have a couple of the newer ones (Taiwan) and they've been fine so far.  Bostitch has a seven year warranty which is more than anyone else offers.

I already own quite a few guns, they're all old bostitch. For trim I use a grex 23 ga headless pin nailer, and two bostitch guns a 16ga, and 18ga that are almost 20yrs old. My 16 ga is pretty heavy, it doesn't have a hook, and blows air right at you, and is loud. The 18 ga, is fine. I wanted to get a angled finish gun however, thats why I'am thinking the 15 ga. I've looked at a few other companys guns but I guess I leaning more towards bostitch cause, thats all I've used for the last ten years. However I'am not a trim carpenter by trade, and if I was replacing my bostitch framing gun, it would probally go with a paslode.

I use 15 ga. finish guns  I can only tell you about the ones I've owned - Senco FP41 and FP42xp.  They're ok.  Never any problems other than the FP41 once caught the feeder tab (the part you pull back to load the nail strips) on carpet when I laid it down to fire into baseboard.  The tab snapped off.  Cheap plastic/poor design, I think.  I had the Paslode gas powered finish nailer.  That worked well, but required gas and cleaning often (depending on use).  I did a review of the new Senco Fusion nitrogen powered 15 ga. finish nailer on the FOG, October of last year.  Didn't like the design or the quality.
