I work in old homes and space is a premium. Numerous times I've set up my Kapex on its cart with either the left or right extension and my MFT on the other side as the out feed support/worktable. I think when running base, I have it on the right so i can make my cut side my piece to the right, grab my Trion with a Collins coping foot and cope that miter. When I'm running crown, I've set it up on the left, make the cut, slide it into my gizmo to hold it at the right spring angle, grab my Trion and cope he miter.
The Kapex on the cart is the same height as the MFT and it would be nice to just lock those two together. Also that would allow you to clamp down your crown stop to the MFT.
Later!
