Bridge City tool MG-5 marking gauge

Has anyone pre-ordered the MG-5 marking gauge?  Today is the last day to pre-order.  You can do so by clicking HERE.  I had ordered one, I think this marking gauge is going to be a nice addition to my layout tools.  Some people collect this stuff but I will be using this tool all the time.  It seams that John has moved towards this "black chrome" finish for all his new tools.  It's really nice material and I'm sure it's very durable but I would like to see these tools made with this material plus some real wood.  I think both materials would compliment each other very well.

Does anyone know if this MG-5 has a scale on it?  The description that was listed did not provide that information.

The brass version of this tool, MG-4, does not have a scale on it.  Since the descriptions of these tools on the BCTW web site is identical (at least to my eyes), I think it safe to say that the new MG-5 doesn't have a scale, either.  A call to BCTW could confirm this.

So far as I know, the MG-3 is the only marking gage they make with a scale.  I know for a fact that is available with 1/32" graduations, and I think a metric version is possible.

There seems to be a trend to get away from rosewood and brass in their tools, and to use various forms of anodized aluminium and stainless steel.  The CS-2 and SS-2X4 are two examples.  I'm not saying that's bad, it's simply the way it is.

I know you weren't asking about other options, but others may be interested, Lee Valley carries a real nice marking gauge with micro adjustment and scales in either metric or imperial.

  I am glad you mentioned it. I have that and love to use it. Lee Valley makes good tools. As does Bridge.
  I tried to get the LV one to measure mortise depth of Dominoes. Unfortunately, it doesnt fit into the smaller morts.

I saw this tool at the WIA show a couple of weeks ago. Very, very nice.

It had no scale.
