...My wife had a mahogany desk chair from her childhood desk that developed a big crack on one leg near the front of the seat courtesy of some age-loosened dowel joinery. I separated the parts, then completed the crack and re-glued it (see below). Then I sawed off the protruding dowels, did a quick flush-sanding with my RO-90, and put in replacement mortise-and-domino joints (a pair of 8x50s for each side).
This was a really fast and effective repair for a piece of furniture that has seen a lot of hard use. Thank you DF500 super-tool!
