Hello,
I am a design build contractor and some months ago, we purchased the DF 500 for a railing project that required a lot of tight, accurate and invisible joins. It worked great, and its great to have the tool around for other projects that come up.
I have been remodeling my own personal residence and we are finally at the stage where I am thinking about the finish wood work. I have been going back and forth about doing stained or painted trim. We are under a tight time crunch to move back in to our home, so I have decided that I will get the floor coverings done, then work on the millwork over the fall and winter in the evenings and weekends. This brings me to the topic of building the doors. All of the doors that I will need to build are in our basement, which has very low ceilings... 6'-1". Yes, that's right, I said down
We are a vertically challenged family, so it works fine for us. The doors will end up being around 5'-10" tall. I'd like to build the doors using the Festool DF 500 since I already own it and likely won't be doing many doors on other projects in the foreseeable future.
Can this be done to in combination with a rabbited panel? It seems that if I used 4 dominoes at each join, it should be strong enough, but I am not finding any posts where woodworkers have done this, so I'm leary.
Any help and direction on this topic would be much appreciated.
thanks,
Jacob Chavez
