Bumper Guard on the older Rotex RO-150

The newer version of the Rotex RO-150 has a cool little guard which allows you to work right into the corners.

Anybody come up with a cool way to make the older version do the same thing? I am thinking an O-ring or some thick hockey tape around the base might do the trip.

I don't own a Rotex but sure would like to
