Buying a SawStop

What’s up guys.
I am buying a SawStop table saw soon. I was looking for suggestions on where to buy it. I  buy most of my Festools from toolnut because of there delivery, tax free and customer service. They don’t sell SawStop so I am asking where did you buy yours? Where should I buy mine.

Looking forward to doing the same.  I have access to a couple at work but may add one to my home shop?

Toolnut has the jobsite model, I believe?  Maybe it would help if you shared your location and model desired?

I think the retailer can have Sawstop drop ship direct and they do build a shipping charge into the pricing at checkout.

If it is of any help to you, I decided that I don't need anything longer than a 30-36" fence now that I use Track Saws.

I bought my Sawstop PCS 1.75hp from Woodcraft in town just so I could pick it up locally and make sure there wouldn't be any additional freight damage chance. I have a pickup truck so they fork lifted it into my bed and I slid the crated box down a ladder to the shop floor. All worked out great as a one man setup.

Superb saw, incredible instructions, saw was dead on to .001" blade to miter slots.

Hello,  I ended up buying mine fromhttp://www.woodworkingshop.com/ (Klingspor's) because they had no tax and shipping was 7.99.  I bought my Jet Dust Collector at the same time and they were delivered without a hitch or any damage.

I believe they are based out of North Carolina.  I have been using them for sandpaper mostly, but got their catalog in the mail and saw that they were a vendor for sawstop.  Good Luck,  it has been a good purchase in my shop.

SawStop adds $250.00 to the price for delivery on saws that are drop shipped, which is how most dealers sell them.

Most local stores will waive those delivery charges if you pick-up at the store. Makes buying locally the best option, and is a good way to build a relationship.

Acme Tool sells Sawstop with free shipping.  I've bought a lot of equipment through them over the years, always great service.

For large purchases like that I buy locally unless there is a major price difference. If you run into any issues a local retailer will likely bend over backwards to help you, whereas online retailers can’t offer the same level of support.

I purchased mine from my local Woodcraft store. They had it in stock and were able to deliver the next day.

It seems like most of my larger item purchases that required freight shipping have arrived with some form of damage. So for the big stuff I buy local when I can.

Acme Tool sells Sawstop with free shipping.  I've bought a lot of equipment through them over the years, always great service.

That used to be the case, but no longer is.  In keeping with their "Free Shipping" sale pitch they advertise all over their site, they have added $250 in the form of a "special handling charge".  So you're paying the same price as anywhere else (with exception of sales tax). 

My not-so-local Woodcraft has a stair lift machine to carry heavy equipment up and down stairs, so if you're placing this in a basement shop, that is another benefit a local reseller might offer vs. having a freight delivery company drop a pallet in your driveway or garage.

I haven't used them but I would if I lived a little closer. I live in northern Indiana and bought my SawStop local. It was actually just a little cheaper, even after paying sales tax and I did not have to worry about shipping damages.
