Calibration of Two Saws to One Track

I've had a cordless Makita track saw since middle of last year. I just picked up a TS75 for my deeper cuts. I saw in the TS55 supplemental manual a method to adjust two Festool saws to single track but here is what I found when trying to adjust the Makita to the TS75.

The Makita has four screws on the bottom. I loosened these and adjusted the base to match the blade position on the TS75. I needed to move the blade further from rail rib.

No big deal but I had a brand new anti-chip on a new Makita rail and the saw barely cut into the anti-chip. Guess as long as it cut I'm fine but just curious why the blades weren't positioned closer out of the box.

Is there a specification with tolerance for the TS75 blade to track rib dimension?

Am I understanding you correctly that after adjusting the Makita saw to match the blade position of the TS75 that the Makita (and presumably the TS75) just barely cut a new anti-splinter strip on a Makita rail?

If I got that right it sounds like Makita and Festool disagree about the proper position of the saw on the rail (or perhaps your TS75 was set "wide" for same reason - is it new?) or perhaps the new anti-splinter strip on the Makita rail is set in too far.

Either way, I think that you are correct - as long as both saws match and the strip was trimmed, you are good.

As a followup - the distance from the rail to the uncut anti-chip on a new Makita track is the same as Festool. I measured it and the TS75 cut about 1.57mm (0.062") off the anti-chip.

Got my two saws adjusted to within 0.25mm (0.010") of each other.
