Can a festool dust extractor hose be shortened from a 11 feet to 6 feet

I would like to be able to shorten a 11 foot hose to create 6 foot dust extractor hose to connect to my Kapex while keeping the dust extractor underneath the saw. Or is it possible to buy a smaller dust extractor hose , I have looked on the Festool site but have not seen one listed.

This is quite easy to do with a non-tapered hose (remove one and, cut the hose, reinstall the end), but I’m not sure it can be done with a tapered hose.

This hose is easily shortened and has worked great for me. HOSE

They also have this model which is less expensive but doesnt come with as many adaptors which you may not need anyways. cheaper option

Of course you can shorten it, its a bit harder to lengthen it with out buying a adapter

And while you are at it get the D36 hose for the Kapex. Then shorten it.
