Originally , I'd like to buy RG 80/130 , but can't find 120V version , only 220/230V and I already have RAS 115....
After looking for drywall finisher/miller , I found somebody mount RG80 tool head on RAS 115 ....
RAS115 with RG80 tool head

Anyone please tell me what should I get for modify my RAS 115 to work like that one on YOUTUBE video ? Does the dust shield on RG80 also fit on RAS 115 ? RG80 dust shield part number ?

Hi Lewis-liu, welcome to the FOG.

Sorry, but that tool in the video is not the RAS 115 with an RG 80 head. It is an older Festool renovation tool, and body and hood are one, just like the current RG 80. You can NOT mount an RG 80 head on a RAS 115.

I can not find which tool it is exactly in the video, but it just looks like the RAS because in that time Festool used to use the same body for a number of different tools.

If you need that type of tool in a 110-120v version, There's another German company called Flex that manufactures a similar type of tool.

Flex brands their tool as the RETECFLEX. The model number is RE 14-5 115. Flex has different versions that come with different heads. These are a couple of the versions.

There are other version listed under Products-Renovation Machines on pages 2 and 3.

This flyer shows some of the other heads available for the grinder. The tool has a separate dust hose connection on the side like the Festool RG 80, but unlike the grinder shown in the video. I did a Google search and it looks like the tool is available in a 110v version for the UK. I don't know whether it would be available for sale in Taiwan.

In case you're unfamiliar with Flex, they're another German tool company that manufactures specialty industrial tools mostly for stone and metal finishing. My understanding is Flex also used to manufacture tools for Festool such as the PS1 Jigsaw. The Flex version sort of makes the Festool version look affordable.  [eek]
