can;t change a email setting

I can;t seen to hide my email address , I checked the hide my address button but it still shows

When I click on your username, it comes up that your email address is hidden---

I guess it finally took   took 3 days of trying

It didn't take 3 days of trying, it's just that the icon is hidden from others, but not from yourself.

I was wondering what was going on , thanX for letting me know , I just know it's not a good idea to place a email address out there for spammers to see
