Can you ever have too many clamps?

I was putting some hardwood edging on some shelves, and used almost all of my clamps. I have 36 clamps in the picture, the only parallel bar clamps I did not use were my 8' clamps!

After gluing all of these shelfs up, I decided I need more 24" clamps ;D

The answer to the question is NO.  Unless they make it so you can't closse the door to your shop.  Then you may have enough.

Jeff, I know what you mean.  I bought a bunch of sets with the black plastic guide blocks Bessey makes from Amazon.  I always thought I had enough till the next time I needed to clamp up projects.

That's the reason I hate doing hardwood edging... running out of clamps and having to wait.

Can you have too many clamps?  The more you have the more you need.  Every time I come home with new clamps all my wife says more clamps [scared] [crying]

If your clamps are long enough, you can clamp two pieces at the same time.  Just put the edgebanding inwards and the shelves/panels act as cauls.

I'm pretty sure stair builders like Eduard could use more clamps than most humans.  At least with drawers and banding, I can do them piecemeal, but a stair railing?!?!  Nice work and avatar, Eduard

And, yeah, Chris, I have some 60" parallels that I routinely use to glue multiple items together with one set of clamps.  BowClamps help a lot, too

You can never have enough clamps during a big glue-up.  You can certainly appreciate having plenty of good quality clamps since a cheap one shows it's limitations or flaws when you have wet glue waiting to be clamped.

In solid surface edge glue ups you need a clamp about every two inches.  So I have lots of spring clamps on top of all the assorted wood clamps to boot.

Wow, I am impressed by that set of clamps on the stairs by Eduard... There must be over 1000 pounds worth of clamps there!

Looks like I will have to show the wife some of these setups people do for gluing up curved pieces, maybe I can talk her into letting me get a bunch more. I just need a good setup to store them all.

Eduard, stunning work.  I seen the finished product on another thread.  Do you have a close up picture of the steel angle bracket you use to clamp to.  How is it fixed down ?
