Carvex behaving strangely

I'm in the middle of building a shed which I've been making good use of my Carvex PSC 420EB.

Today it won't start for some reason. I tried charging the battery for ten minutes but when I put it in one white led lit up and then went off and it wouldn't start. No audible peeps. The charger is flashing green to show it is charging. I tried a few more times and it started at full speed for about 1 second and then slowed down to the right speed. Turning it off and on again and the same led lights up and the blade doesn't move. I thought the battery might be completely flat, but normally I get an audible warning when the battery is flat, but this hasn't happened.

The last few days I noticed that the speed sometimes fluctuates slightly when cutting - not sure if this is normal or not.

Update: battery is now fully charged and still it refused to start. :-(

It's not just one led that comes on, it's all of them, I didn't see the others before. Any help would be most appreciated as I don't have much time to finish the shed

Sounds like buggy electronics ... I'd be returning it. An unpredictable tool is particularly dangerous - don't risk it, get Festool to fix it ASAP.

I would agree with Kev. Stop using it immediately and contact Festool UK for assistance.

I'm pretty disappointed with the way this problem is being handled. In the past Festool have been very quick to get a tool collected repaired and sent back. This time I had to wait 4 working days to get a reply to my first email. Also the Carvex was supposed to be collected today but nobody showed up to collect it. Avoiding these sorts of hassles is partly what drew me to Festool.

It doesn't help matters that I've had to borrow a Bosch jigsaw since the Carvex went wrong and am constantly cursing it for not cutting square and today it cracked a plastic sheet when I know the Carvex can do a much better job.
