Well, I just picked up a Trion jigsaw and I was surprised at how difficult it is the see the blade while cutting. It was really barely usable.  Is the Carvex blade easier to see?  If so I may exchange for one.

Thanks

I don't havethe trion but do have the Carvex barrel handled version it's easy enough to see the blade. It has an interesting feature with the light that synchronizes to the blade speed so it freeze the blade movement visually.

Hi,

I have both. The blade is easier to see on the Carvex. Better visibility through the dust shield and also the light. If you purchased at a store you can compare before you exchange. Also it is easy on the Carvex to slide the dust shield open or closed, unlike on Trion where it needs to be removed and can be fiddly.

Well, I went back to Woodcraft today to check out the Carvex and the visibility is definitely better, even before the light. There is just more open space around the blade and then also the dust shield is straight so you can more easily see through it. The Trion's dust shield has bends in it that you can't see through. So I exchanged. Looking forward to trying it out!

Thanks.

Go with the Carvex.  I've had the Trion for years and am not a big fan of it.  The visibility is much better with the Carvex.

That is the stroboscopic effect working as planned...don't grab the blade that doesn't appear to be moving, it's merciless.  [eek]
