Hello,
I am thinking of buying this above mentioned  jigsaw with a R 54G blade to cut 6mm.ceramic tiles. Has anyone had any experience with this?
Also does  cutting this material shorten the life of the saw?
Thanks for your help

Thanks Oliver,
That Thread that you recommended says it all, originally I was going to use a wet saw, but saw this blade in the catalogue and thought it may allow me to justify the 420 to my wife😏
CheersP

Hi Paul,

I'm trying to get away from the cord as much as I can. I do a lot of work "outside" so I'm not bound to a dust extractor all the time but use the filter bags supplied with the machines. I love the freedom of the cordless tools, thats why I would always recommend to go cordless: convenience. :)

Maybe tell us a little bit more on what you want to do, if it's just one big job and then the tools are going to be stored or if you are a pro/hobbyist with every day tool use?

Generally speaking, battery packs are not the most happy when stored for a long time. It's a lot better now with the LiIon stuff than it was with the NiCd or worse, Nimh and there are tricks like keeping/storing them at 75% charged but at some point they will fail if not used and cycled from time to time.

Kind regards,
Oliver

I am just a hobbyist presently I am in the middle of a bathroom Reno, but there will be times when it sits for months
Thanks
Paul

Hitachi also makes some decent blades for that sort of work, and maybe Bosch.

Any old jig saw would work, but I suppose if you are intending on being around a bucket of water a battery powered saw makes some sense if the cuts are arc shaped like around a toilet bowl.
