Carvex rail base. Lots of slop, no precision. Any recommendations?

I just received my new Carvex. I ordered the rail base (Part No 497303) so that I can use the Carvex with my rail for precise cuts. The rail base is not good. There seems to be about 2mm of slop between the base and the track on the rail. Any ideas on how to address this problem? I am thinking of buying some metallic tape and adhering it to the side of the track as shim. Anybody try this? Any other ideas?

Check to see if there are adjusting screws present. If so, they may not be snugged up out of the box. That is left up to the woodworker to adjust for the drag that is needed for the guide to work properly. The guide stops for the routers are similar. Good luck!

I had the exact same issue with my Carvex rail adapter. I didn't have any UHMW tape at the time so I used two layers of blue painter's tape on the inside edge of the rail adapter...worked perfectly.
