I tried the search function and got lost....   I would like to know what members use by way a Systainer-type case to carry numerous interchangeable bits, nut drivers etc. - such as those contained in the Festool $430 package - for use in shop and out to work sites? Several major points leap out at me and I would appreciate your evaluation and opinions. Please note I refer to accumulated drill bits and accessories, not to carry the C-12 etc. themelves.

1. Numerous Systainer inserts are available from Tanos via mySystainer, or Japan Woodworker through MySystainer MySystainer or Or Here but as far as I see, not available directly from Festool. Correct? These are molded divider inserts for systainers similar to a silverware tray or similar but require a sustainer and they do not stack - e.g. only one in top of a systainer. Also as the links show, numerous vertical dividers or part compartments.

2.  4-drawer Sortainer #491522 ($140) in the Festool catalog.

3. Combine #2 with the 6, 9, or 12, drawer 491-984, -985, and -986.

What do you find best for drilling tasks?

TIA

By way of just agreeing that there's a problem ... I'm waiting for the Centrotec kit to arrive in Oz and I'll just grab it! I've got so many containers of doodads and lunch box size things full of bits and drivers that it's sending me bonkers.

Maybe we need a Mr Sort-Your-Bits service ... visits and takes all of your mess away and leaves you with a range of useful sizes, sharpened, in a nice systainer/ I'd call him for a quote!

i would buy one of the little drawer units probably the one with12 drawers or the 6 drawer would work

Why not building an insert for a systainer size 2 or 3 that meets your needs. It can carry all the drill bit sets in the boxes and you can attach other accessories you want to do. I have been in the same situation like you are, that let me to the conclusion to build me my own insert.
