CDD12 CE - Brake Stopped Functioning

Hello,

My CDD12 CE electric brake has stopped functioning, the drill will now spin down slowly rather then immediately. Unfortunately (and typically) the drill was out of warranty since March 27th.

Also unfortunately, this was purchased before Hafele took over in Canada and the shipping alone to the US service centre is going to run me over $100, unfortunately Festool USA uses UPS to ship and there rates are horrendous.

I am not inclined to spend another 100 plus dollars on this drill, considering I have had Makita's that have outlasted it. Is anyone aware of what may have caused this issue and if there is a part I could order that I could replace myself, to fix it?

i had a hilti drill that the brake stop working.it was the switch,and i think i paid $25-$30 for it.
i change it myself,and it work out great.

Thanks! The switch would be a simple fix. Can anyone from Festool confirm that the switch controls the brake function?
