Very nice. I am guessing about 24"x48" and 18" high.

How much working time do you get with that French's glue? :)

I use the 14 Oz. Heinz Ketchup bottles myself.

My kids always ask why I keep glue in the fridge.

Thans fr sharing your project with us. I am planning on building something similar.

Hoping to fill them this week...

I would like to build these exact planters, but with longer legs.  Make them so they are waist high.  Do you think the sides will bow once soil is in the boxes?

They are very solid. I don't see any signs of bowing even with [wet] soil in them. The boards are almost a full 1" thick.

On a side note, I am making a kid's picnic table with the same material, and over a 4 foot span, supported only on the ends (about 4" in) there is very minimal deflection even with two 35lb kids sitting on the bench portion.

Looks way too nice to get all dirty!
Wish I could get nice lumber like that at affordable prices here.

So how are the four sides attached to the legs? Dominos? Sipo I assume. If so it seems like the Dominos and maybe some end grain glue are trying to hold all the vertical weight in the box. That is a tremendous amount of weight when wet I would think.

Yes, Sipo dominos and Tiitebond III. 8x50s I believe. All of the domino mortises were made on the "tight" setting. I stood in the box with my wife and felt no sign of it giving...nor did I hear and cracking. Also, the load of the weight is spread out across the 2'x4' span and 4 posts. I'm not worried.
