Is it me or do any of you think all the bits etc are overpriced, I purchased a T12 last week nice bit of kit, then I decided to see what the cost of the drill bits etc were.

I was surprised at the cost as currently have a good range of trend Snappy bits which are not cheap but appear better value than the Centrotec range your thoughts??

I think the Centrotec bits are fairly priced. The quality is extremely good. I've paid similar prices for other German made bits.

In my mind the issue is that there is a far wider range of ball detent tools. A ball detent FastFix chuck would be much appreciated.

The centrotec drill bits are very good quality and to my mind worth it for the convenience and speed in operation.

However the rest of the "installers kit" I personally dont think is ideally suited to site carpentry/joinery and are expensive for what they are.

If they had a selection of spade bits, small auger bits, a range of hinge centering drills(not just the 5mm) etc, then it would be a more attractive option.

Like a lot of guys on this forum they make up a set of what they need as opposed to what comes as standard in the installers set.

I have a mixture of Snappy, Wera, Irwin, Vix bits etc, all in a 4 drawer systainer and it suits my needs.

I would just get a set of the wood brad drill bits and see how you like them first and then just pick and choose.

I really like my Centrotec bits...they are amazingly sharp and drill really clean holes.  I think that they are priced well for the quality.  The only drawback is limited sizes...some smaller and larger sizes would be nice.  The installers set is great and I have even used the hook driver (which is one bit I thought I would never have a need for).  I also use standard bits with the the regular chuck and regular hex drive.
