Centrotec - Questions I am hoping you can answer!

Hi,

I am a huge fan of WL Fuller, Famag and Colt.  I have found some of the Festool Centrotec drills and Forstner to be of the same quality.

Where are all the drill bits and other accessories?  It seems like there just aren't many options in the Centrotec line.  Perhaps I am not finding the right catalog or something?  I go searching and find the Vix for 5mm for example but I never saw that in the accessories section of most Festool dealers.

Also, does anyone know much about the Snappy set?  I think the countersinks from WL Fuller are better based on just looking at the photos and the tapers but if they are good quality drills it would be worth having these on hand.

Lastly are people permanently making Centrotec out of normal bits and storing them that way?  If so are there adapters for most sizes available? I haven't found many.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

E-bay [thumbs up]. Search "Festool Centrotec".

Thanks, that is exactly what I am doing.  What is strange is when I go to dealers I don't see much.

Snappy makes Centrotec compatible drill set and combined pilot/countersink Centrotec bits. The combo bits are not as good as Fuller's tapered bits IME. The drill bits are in a collet which at least allows replacement of the bit. The collet needs to be really tight otherwise the bit slips with any significant torque

I think we have everything that's offered in the U.S.

Chucks
Drill Bits
Driver Bits

Aftermarket Accessories

Thanks Shane, your site is responsible for a lot of my money leaving this month!  I have looked over every inch and am really happy with how everything is laid out.  I guess I was surprised having such a huge selection that could be out there for non brad-point for example.  I'll get what I can thank you much.

Thank you, I have a set of the Fuller Countersinks and they just are the absolute best I have ever used.  Going to be hard to ever replace those, especially looking at the taper it's much more pronounced.  Thank you again.

There's an austrian company called Fisch, comparable to Famag quality-wise, that's doing
Centrotec-compatible auger bits 6-20mm, 265mm length. Axminster stocks them.
