Centrotec Spiral Bit Holder or cassette?

I recently purchased the Centrotec spiral bits individually. I figured I could worry about storage later bc surely festool makes a solution to buy too

I’ve searched high and low and I see no way of storing the festool Centrotec drill bit collection in any product. Dropping the bits in a loos Sys attic system isn’t going to work for me. Am I missing something or does someone have a solution?  Would prefer to have a nice festool branded and labeled storage system and NOT DIY recommendations. Thanks.

AFAIK, they do not sell the cassettes separately. It would be nice if they did (if anyone knows if they do, please advise).

Maybe this?

However, near the bottom of the description, it says, "Includes 7 SDS drill bits with diameters ranging from 5/32" to 1/2"" though they aren't shown in the photo.

Otherwise, you might have to go with a DIY solution. Should be fairly easy to mimic what Festool has to fit in a lid compartment, out of either foam or wood.

This is crazy that festool doesn’t sell a way to organize them. Not really into DIY for something every tool manufacturer that makes bits has.

This set (577396) is made for the lid of a Systainer³. But it also includes the drills.
There are other different filled boxes available, see Festool USA of Festool Europe
As far as I know there is no empty box available. Tanos do sell these empty boxes (83000566).
In the past these were also sold for the old T-Loc lids.

This is helpful except the bits would be labeled wrong since it isnt specific to the spiral bit collection sizes.

[member=68900]Systainer.Store[/member] sells the Bit cartridge and SDS bit holder as individual empty items.  Bit cassette (linked below) is sold out, the SDS is available.

Here's the caveat for the SDS cassette, though: "SDS is a type if drill bit for harder materials and has a shank size of 10 millimeter.  That is to say it doesn't fit 1/4" drill bits and driver bits."

On the small bit cassette, the individual rows/holders can be removed so that you can use it to store full-length drill bits, which is why the image of the full drill set has holes along the sides; it's the same base piece.

Here's the link to the bit cassette to sign up for stock alerts:

I'm not affiliated, just a happy customer.

These drill bits CEØ3-10 mm are still sold in a cassette (495128 ).

I have this set. When I chuck them in my (Nova) drill press, they all demonstrate significant run out using the bit holders. The run out disappears when the bits are used without the holders. Centrotec have been a disappointment is accuracy is important.

I had a feeling it was about these. ->https://www.festool.com/accessory/d...ll-bit-cases/495128---hss-d3-10-ce10#Overview

This box came with some of the installer's sets. If that set was ever sold in the US, I don't know.

Now the good thing for you is, the box is called "RoseBox" because it is made by "Rose Plastic" ->https://www.rose-plastic.de/de/produkte/kunststoffkassetten-bohrerkassetten/rosebox

These are available empty, however it will probably a night spent using you favorite search engine to source exactly the one that will fit the Centrotec and/or 1/4" Hex shaft.

I will do some research when I have the time, I might be able to source one - no promises though.

Kind regards,
Oliver

So many people linking to the monster cassettes that fit ostensibly within the confines of a full size systainer, whereas the OP is asking for a cassette to go in the Sys3 attic.

The answer is in the post right before the quoted post: The Systainer Store (www.systainer.store) sells the bit holders in the US, no import/duty to worry about, but they are just currently out of stock.

Can't wait to hear what the OP decides to buy. Will he buy a cassette to fit his Systainer Attic? Will he buy a behemoth bit holder for his Systainer basement? The suspense is killing me!

Also, looks like the cassette I linked to at Tools Today simply has the wrong description. Systainer Store does not mention any included bits.

Admittedly, I didn't check the Toolstoday link to see what the part number was to compare it to the Systainer Store offering.

I do feel like this is much more difficult than it needs to be, all things considered.  I swore that FUSA released the cassettes separately in a recent announcement, but I'm pretty sure I was thinking of the Systainer Store offering, which is why I went to their site first.

577396 seems to be the one?

Anyway, the SDS thingy is / was sold in  version including the bits.

I still have to figure out how to store my sds drill bits too, especially because I have a near complete collection from 3.5 to 30mm with sometimes five different lengths per diameter. And yes they all have a purpose. Currently most of them float around in an L-boxx. The 465mm long ones only fitting diagonally.

Cannot you get one of those empty drill bit boxes?

They are not for a series of bits with same shaft, like these Centrotec bits are.

While I do not disagree with you in regards to the drill press circumstance. I feel like runout of this nature is less important in a handheld drill. At least to me, the convenience of Centrotec outweighs the minimal runout that I might experience in the context of a handheld drill. Just my thoughts.

Easily remedied with a label:
