I'm sure this has been asked to death. But I keep finding different answers - I think maybe Festool standardized the kerfs at some point?

I have a new TS55R which came with the fine tooth saw blade HW W48. I just bought a rip blade - Festool 496301 Panther saw blade 160mm x 20mm PW12 12 teeth to be exact.

Now I should have no problem using the new blade in the saw on my rails right?

here is a chart that was posted for me when i asked the same question once.

you do have to be careful because some dealers that don't move tons of stock and or that had a lot of inventory of old 2.5mm kerf blades,  can still be selling them.

if buying in a store, check the part number, if ordering online, call or email to verify the part number.

Your part numbers must be different from here in the states, i just noticed that your part number didnt match the chart so i googled it.. it was indeed a panther blade and also more importantly the correct standardized 2.2mm kerf.

i guess you should disregard that chart for anyone outside the US

Thanks for the clarification, I'll now use my ripping blade without worrying I'm ruining the expensive strip!

Be particularly careful if you're buying blades via Amazon, I've seen a lot of the old wider kerf blades going cheap.
