I had the same problem with mine... using syslite with the power cord the connector fell apart from flexing too much over a period of 2 months.
Just cut it off, and splice in a 1.7 mm power connector to it. I was able to buy a 1.7 mm power connector locally for $0.99, and it's slightly bigger than the standard connector so the back cover with the hook needed to be drilled a bit bigger by maybe half a millimeter.
Festool does a lot of tricks to prevent people from repairing their tools with readily available parts on the market, but there are easy workarounds.
