I just completed four (4) kitchen/bar stools in Cherry.  The seat blanks and footrest/stretchers are joined with 8x50 dominos.  All components were cut on my TechnoIsel LC4896 CNC Router.  The leg to seat joinery is a Maloof style.  I sanded with a Festool RO90 and ETS125.  The finish is four coats each of poly/oil and oil/wax.

Those are sharp!  Love the details.  Grain really popping.  [thumbs up]

Thank you Peter I do not work in cherry very often but was impressed with the grain in this batch.

Nice work and use of the Maloof joint. Those look nice!

Any photos for how you fixtured / held the legs while cutting with the CNC?  I assume you had three different setups for each face?  Top looks relatively easy, but the legs had me scratching my head!

Thanks for sharing.

Neil,
I don't think I have photos of the setup.  The seats, legs and stretcher are all double sided machining.  I used the CNC to pre-place some sockets in the spoil board for some Rockler hold down clamps incorporating their T-bolts on the seat blanks.  Also drilled index holes through the material/spoil board used 3/8" dowels to align the material for the second side.

The legs were done four at a time, blanks cut long and bolted to the spoil board using the sockets and T-bolts, with the same indexing dowels.
A lot of work even with the CNC, tons of sanding, probably will not build more of these.  Still a fun project.

I did use a jig to cut the dados in the legs for the stretchers.
