Here is the Kitchen project we just finished (about 93.3% done) before Christmas.  We are still doing some small extras but they're moved in and using the kitchen.  We started this project in late September and there was a lot of backbreaking demo especially with a bunch of old guys doing the demo!  I think between the five of us combined you could get one healthy person.  We removed brick and block walls to enlarge interior openings and to install a door where windows have been. The worst demo event that brought the most sweat and colorful language was the removal of four layers of flooring with a wire and mud tile base being the last and most painful. After the demo the rest the job was very fun and a lot easier on the body!

Ricky, thank you for the kind words! The flooring is a 5/8" thick laminate with alittle more than a 1/8" thick solid wood top, that could be sanded at least twice to refinish.  Although you would lose the undulating hand planed look. The floor was $7.00 a sqft from Floors USA.

Fantastic job. Love the coffered ceiling, how much work was that to build? Looks like each grid has its own light?  The other area of the kitchen retained a tongue and groove ceiling?

I'm sure the homeowners are quite pleased with the results.

Nice work and what a great looking build!  Do you have any photos of what you started with?  I bet the transformation is amazing!

Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful kitchen and a lot of attention to detail.  Thank you for sharing.  Bill

Lunchman, we installed the new Windsor one 1x6 beadboard to the ceiling in the bar/tv room. The coffer ceiling took three of us about 2-1/2 weeks to complete the carpentry and get ready for the painter to spray. We installed 38 led lights in the ceiling a new personal best! The first three pictures show the bar/tv room before drywall and beadboard. The existing kitchen ceiling was plaster and very wavy and out of level by almost 2" across the room. The homeowners always wanted a coffer and beadboard ceiling and they are very pleased with the way they turned out.
Cheers
