For a couple of years now my family have been trying the concept of homemade or recycled Christmas, that is for the presesnts (luckily food is excluded). Its quite a lot of fun as it make you really think about someone wants/needs since effort is involved in the gift. Here are a couple of item I made
Clock:
This is made out of walnut with maple inserts (just used plugs). The receiver of this clock like things just so and accurate, so it has a radio clokc mechanism in it that picks up a radio signal every two hours and sets the clock to the exact time, including automatically changing over for daylight savings etc. The mechanisms are inexpensive (about £15), this one has custom brushed aluminium hands
Shelves:
A couple of oak shelves with removable small inbuilt drawers, all joints dovetail or sliding dovetail
