Does anyone actually use the under table locking knobs with their clamping elements?

Yes!!! It helps to keep the material under clamping flat on the MFT3. Without the under table knobs you will experience lifting of the item that is being clamped. This can be an issue for example when clamping up a rail and stile door or a panel glue up. The further out the clamping pad is extended from the levered part of the clamping element set the more the benefits of the under table knobs will be noticed.

Very rarely.  Had I known, I wouldn't have purchased the extra set of  knobs for my Seneca Domiplate.

I do sometimes, as said above, it helps to keep things flat. I mainly use the knobs to hold the Parf Dogs in place.

I put mine on once, the first time... It was too much fumbling around.

I also had the issue with them wanting to "buck up" until I backed off on the force I was trying to apply with them. I used to double-down on the pressure using two cranks and they always rose off the table. I stopped trying to clamp so hard and everything works better. They are still plenty tight.

I used the knobs about half the time. They are especially useful when clamping larger, thinner boards for sanding - I find if the board lifts off the table when clamped that I get additional vibration when sanding - this leads to extra noise, and on rare occasions slightly less than perfect finish.

Here is one occasion that I ended up adding the knobs (after the photo was taken) as you can see that left edge of the piece lifting off the table.

Does anyone know the thread used on the knobs? I want to use the knobs on a couple of jigs and the EKAT catalogue only lists the the clamping elements by sub-components.
