Hi everyone, first post

Just bought a CT48 used from a painter. You can imagine it was covered in paint. Wasn’t taken care of at all. I used isopropyl alcohol to clean most of the body and it worked very well but the braided hose has a lot of over spray of paint on it. Is it possible to clean the braided hose?

If it really bothers you visually, your best bet is to just remove the braiding. The Festool ends are not glued-in and can be disassembled.

As for the body, the plastic is of a very high quality and can be sanded (low speed) with higher grit paper when some discoloring/paint is too stuck to it.

There are some easy-to-use latex paint removers. Could slather it on the hose, brush with a stiff brush, then wash it off. Might not get it completely clean but should get rid of the bulk of it. The one I used even worked well on dried paint on my shirt. It had been there a week so I thought to see how well it worked. Rubbed it in, washed, all but one dot gone. Sadly, I can't recall the brand name
