CMS Table Extension Question

Yes that's a bit complicated but very interesting, you are certainly an expert at attaching all those things together.

So in my case the question is : can you attach a precisio CS50 and a CMS (4 feet) together ? Is it possible ?

No, you would need to buy 2 VB extensions and 2 MFT jointing plates to fit them together

Pixel, in your last message I think you meant VB-CMS/CS 50 and not just VB.

I see now the limits and why you came up with the pixel mod threaded rod .
You also took away the feet of one VB-CMS/CS 50, right ? The one with a hole and a pencil cross in the middle.

It would be so nice if Festool proposed a plate that allows to connect two of those tables by only catching the    V-Groove. Then one could connect a Precisio or a CMS or MFT one to another in a modular way.

As it is now, the only thing I can think of is a mod based on the Kapex crown stop (AB-KS) . Has anyone tried something in this direction ?

Yes the VB-CMS/CS-50, the one with the blanking plate as you say with the hole in it. This is the same depth as the CMS module but I now understand your previous comments, Festool state the size as 775 but this could be a mistake as that is the dimension of the CS 70 and the MFT.

I took off the legs as the extension is and will always be set up to fasten the CMS to an MFT, the problem I find with the CMS even with the VB extension is it is too light and moves too easily when your pushing timber through the router, not the case when it fastened to 3 MFT's and a CS70.

I would imagine if you bolted two crown stops back to back you could then use the clamping features of the clamps to fit to the CMS and a CS, would suggest two sets, 4 crown stops in total.
I have a couple of crown stops so I'll look at them to see if they can be fitted back to back.

Digging this old thread up, because I think it's still somewhat unclear.

I used to know all this, but now that I actually want to know, I forgot it. But here it is;

492090; Festool VB; width extension for CS 50
493822; Festool VB-CMS; width extension for CMS
492092; Festool VL; outfeed extension for CMS & CS50
495531; Festool VB-CMS/CS 50; comes with 2 feed and serves as width extension for both CMS and CS 50
495510 *; Festool MFT/3-VL; this comes with 2 legs, attaches to the short side of the MFT, has the same side profile as the MFT and takes a CMS module (and has the on/off switch for it). The dimensions of 480x773 are correct; it is significantly longer than the normal CMS-GE or CS-50, giving it the same length as the MFT has on the short side.

492090 and 493822 can be interchanged; the only thing differentiating them is the scale. The CMS saw modules have the saw ~4 cm more to the right.

* or other depending on socket I guess. Given number is the NL model with Schuko socket.
