Hey, been a busy summer, building infrastructure in the shop, rebuilding my CNC with pro linear motion components. About to start making some guitars again.

I've started a new YouTube channel called "The Modern Luthier" on which I'll be making videos about my approach to using CNC and better technology to make guitar building easier.

here is the first video I did about a making a nice vacuum jig in corian for holding the neck and fretboards during CNC operations. Enjoy.

The Modern Luither: Making a vacuum jig

Fascinating video about the process.  Love watching things come to life on the CNC.  Look forward to seeing more/

Nice jig you made.  Was the extra thickness from laminating only for the hold-downs or did you need that thickness for the jig overall?

Look forward to following your channel and seeing more of your craft -

Thanks for sharing, Fritter!

It was needed for the side access to get the fitting or tube in there. I'm considering just switching to a smaller 1/4" tubing to avoid having to do that, but right now everything is based off 3/8" tubing because that's what my vacuum bag came with and so the pump is fitted with that size connections.
