It's made from QS Red Oak. All solid wood. Finish is a blend of walnut and oak stain, with four coats of General Finishes Nordic oil, followed by two coats of wax. It's the second time I've used GF Nordic oil and I can't say enough about it. Goes on easy, smells great, odor does not linger, and dries in about 24 hours per coat. I wet sanded each application of the finish with 400 grit W/D sandpaper and it is amazingly smooth. [I used the same finish on the chest of drawers mentioned in a previous post. No lingering smell in the drawers on that one, which is never the case with most oil finishes I have used.]
Dominos hold the frame together. Dominos were used on the top and shelf. MFK700 router was used for all the edge treatments. And the Rotex came in handy for both sanding and polishing. The side spindles were routed into the end rails. Overall dimensions are about 28 x 28 x 17" high.
Plan was from a Woodsmith plan slightly altered in dimensions. Really pleased with the final grain and flake that shows through, though the photos don't do it justice.
